Linalool Oxide is a fresh, sweet material which is very useful for its ability to give additional lift to floral accords. It also has a fresh earthy quality which makes it invaluable in reconstitutions of essential oils. It blends harmoniously with patchouli in chypre accords.
These share the same CAS number (1365-19-1) — the same core molecule sold under different trade names. They're close to interchangeable, but purity and isomer ratio can cause subtle differences in strength and character, so treat them as near-identical rather than exactly the same.
